Wedding Inspiration♥

June is, officially, Wedding month.  I was not aware of this.  But it is.  So I will now share an unfolding of some really great weddings I came across while perusing the cool blog,  100 Layer Cake.
This is for all of you planning weddings.  Or for all of you who have gotten married.  Or for all of you who like weddings.  Or for all of you who hate weddings, but who will- unwittingly- kind of sort of think maybe some of them are okay enough after seeing a few of these.
Enjoy... (or hate.  It's your call.)
(I like that one for the much neglected guys.)

and for that perfect touch for the ladies...

Happy Wedding Season!

Things to inspire your week...

A few things I'm enjoying and think you might to:

This photo by Gabrielle Kai.

Am I the only one who hasn't seen this fantastic commercial until just recently? Must have watched it, like, 43 times already.

An old friend's blog Klimbalan (I am, particularly, fond of this post today).  Perfect for snippets of wit and wisdom.

And Dust Congress.  Tag line:  "Are you honest when nobody's looking?"  (Well?  Are you?)

The Selby.  I am finding this mostly neat.  And I guess a book based on this site was just put out.  So more food for sneaking a peek into others' lives...

Which brings me to this site, once again:
and this:

Have a lovely beginning of your week.  Catch ya in a few days.

Nurseries.

I'm not pregnant.  Let's just get that out on the table.  I am also, currently, not prepared to start the adoption process or foster a child.  I love (certain) children immensely, but I am not prepared for one of my own... not now.  Maybe not ever.  Still unsure.

Doesn't matter.  Point is, I am enjoying looking at photos of nurseries lately... most likely because of the new wee ones that have entered this world via friends' and family's bellies (I'm gonna give a shout out to Ryland James and Emmett Arlo now... woot woot!).

Here are some of my favorites so far. (If I can find a way to download lil' Emmett's adorable robot/space room off of Flickr, I'll update the post with that in a couple of days)

Love the airy lightness and simplicity of this one.

Someone neat had the smarts to make this color combination work.  Very ambitious.  Very well designed.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm a fan of nooks.  This little jewel box of a nursery is soft and peaceful and sweet as can be.

This one makes my heart flip.  Such great everything... including the daybed and that fantastic chandeleir.  I'd stick a little crib in there somewhere because I'd freak thinking about the babes rolling off that bed.  Still.  In love.

I'll, no doubt, come across more in the coming weeks.  If you see some you like, could you, pretty please, link to them in the comments?  I have another friend who's needing some inspiration yum yums for their nursery... this would help her out.  Thanks, peeps!

I'll make my own sunshine, thank you.

This day can't make up its mind.  I wake up to clouds and reserve myself to the fact that it's a day best spent indoors, project-mode, drinking tea (but, believe me, I'd be downing mugs of coffee right now if our machine didn't up and make its transition into heaven or nirvana or whathaveyou).  And then the clouds part and the sun shines perfectly out my window and instant guilt sets in.  It may be the New England girl in me, but I feel a desperate need to be outside each day the sun's out (which is pretty much everyday here in California)- as if it won't come around again for another few weeks and I need to savor the warmth... and vitamin D... or something.
But I need to be inside today... working, making, designing.  It's an okay sacrifice when you're indoors making something pretty.

Anyhow.  The sun wasn't out this morning and so my survival instinct went straight to thinking of colors.  Today's color, it appears, is fuchsia.

A little pop here...
and here... (my life would be empty were it not for garden roses and peonies.  Alright then... maybe that was a little dramatic.  But they are awfully lovely creatures to do without...) ... ♥Image: Papaya Art
A little bit of Spunk for the ho-hums and doldrums...

And, holy god, feast your eyes on these gorgeous edible wafers by Sugar Robot...

See?  Making your own sunshine is easy.

My $500 Shopping Spree.

I'm planning on a mass amount of cash to magically appear on my lap out of nowhere some day soon and so this is what I'd do with the first $500:

I'm pretty sure I would just sit home wearing these while drinking port all day, if I could get away with it. Charming Darling underthingies ($110) by Toad Lillie

This Dreamy Blue Lili clutch ($72) by  Bagatelles and Co is all like, "Hey, Cath!  PSSSSSSST!!! You NEED this clutch so that your days can be measured in soft fluffy clouds and beams of sunshine... and also tactile fulfillment."

This set of three hanging bowls ($74) by Vessels and Wares would have a lovely spot in the kitchen so Mars the Dog will no longer be able to reach the apples, oranges and lemons (AKA: Oh boy! For ME?!!! Brand new ball toys!! [insert wiggle butt here] )

About 3000 yards (I'll start with ten) of this Everything-About-It-Is-Perfect ribbon (Deep Plum- $5.00/yard) from Bocage

This super adorable Ada coat ($195) by Little Houses

Alright, well, I'm $1 over.  So I'll just splurge on another $3.50 (plus tip!) out of pocket and get that vanilla latte I'm currently willing to kill for.

What would you do with $500 (given all bills are already paid... live a little, will ya?!)
